From the leader PamSmith pavercel@gmail.com :

The forecast is showing a severe storm risk - including damaging winds and the potential for tornados tomorrow morning. I've been watching the projected radar, and the storms will be over the Richmond Hill/Savannah area at the 8AM start of the field trip. Here's the weather alert for tonight/ tomorrow:

"Severe Thunderstorms: A line of strong thunderstorms is expected to move into southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina late tonight. The primary threat with this line of thunderstorms will be damaging wind gusts, but a tornado or two will also be possible. The line of thunderstorms will shift offshore and the severe threat will end by mid morning Saturday."

If the forecast was simply a chance of rain, I have no problem moving forward with the field trip. However, I think it would be best to cancel the field trip due to the severe weather risk in the morning hours.

So stay home and stay safe tomorrow!!
